Who we are

Mystica is made and published by Çağlayan Özgün Kasap, a developer in Türkiye (“we”, “us”). We are responsible, as data controller, for the personal data described in this policy, except where we say that Apple or Google decides. You can reach us at support@stratanaut.com.

This policy covers Mystica on iPhone and iPad. Where it says iPhone or iOS, the same goes for iPad and iPadOS.

What stays on your iPhone

Your settings and progress. Your player name, your theme, your sound and vibration settings, whether you have finished the tutorial and how many matches you have won are saved on your iPhone with Apple’s standard app storage.

A random ID. The game also makes up a random ID on your iPhone, so that the devices at a table can tell the players apart. It is not taken from your device or your Apple Account, and it stays the same until you delete the game.

None of this is ever sent to us. What leaves your iPhone when you play with other people is described in the next section. All of it is included in your iPhone’s backups if you back up to iCloud or a computer, under your own Apple Account. Deleting the game deletes it from your iPhone.

Playing with other people

Online matches

Online matches use Apple’s Game Center, so they need you to be signed in to Game Center on your iPhone. Game Center finds the other players. During a match, the game sends them your player name, your random ID and your moves through Game Center.

Game Center also identifies each player to the game with an ID of its own. The game uses it only during the match, to deliver the moves to the right player, and does not save it. Game Center is Apple’s service: Apple decides how the data needed to run it is used, under the Apple Privacy Policy.

The leaderboard

Every match you win, against people or bots, adds one to your total; the tutorial doesn’t count. When you are signed in to Game Center, the game sends your total to the Mystica leaderboard, where it appears with your Game Center name. Until you sign in, the total stays on your iPhone. Who can see the leaderboard is up to Game Center’s rules and your Game Center settings.

Nearby rooms

Nearby rooms connect iPhones to each other directly, with Apple’s Multipeer Connectivity, and need neither the internet nor Game Center. So that your friends can find a room you open, your iPhone announces it to devices nearby with your player name and your random ID. This announcement is not encrypted: any device nearby that looks for Mystica rooms can read it. When you join a room, your player name also goes to the host’s iPhone with your request to join. Once the devices are connected, everything the game sends between them is encrypted.

iOS asks whether Mystica may use your local network the first time you open or look for a room. Mystica uses it only for nearby rooms, and if you say no, only nearby rooms stop working.

Your player name

You choose your player name in the game’s Settings. If you leave it empty, the other players see “iPhone” or “iPad”. Pick a name you are happy for the other players, and devices nearby, to see. The game keeps the other players’ names and IDs only in memory during a match and does not save them.

If you email us

When you write to us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use them only to answer you and to fix what you report. Cloudflare forwards mail sent to support@stratanaut.com to our mailbox at Google’s Gmail and keeps no mailbox itself. We use Gmail under Google’s standard terms, so Google handles those messages under its own privacy policy. We keep messages while we deal with them and then for no more than two years, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

Beta testing

If you test Mystica with Apple’s TestFlight, Apple shows us the name and email address we invited you with; if you joined through a public TestFlight link, you appear as anonymous unless you type your email address into your feedback. Apple also shows us which device you test on, how many sessions and crashes you have had, and the feedback you choose to send: your comments and screenshots, with the technical details Apple adds to them, such as your device model and iOS version. We use all of this only to improve the game, and keep it on the same terms as email.

Apple

You download Mystica from Apple, under Apple’s privacy policy. If you turn on Share With App Developers in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, Apple also shares crash reports and usage statistics with us, without your identity. If you rate or review Mystica on the App Store, that goes to Apple and appears under Apple’s rules.

This website

mystica.stratanaut.com sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies; the round you can play on the home page runs entirely in your browser. The site is hosted by Vercel, which processes the technical details every visit sends, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the pages and keep the service secure.

What we do not do

• No account or sign-in of our own.
• No ads and no in-app purchases.
• No access to your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
• No analytics, crash-reporting or advertising software in the game. It is built only with Apple’s own frameworks.
• We do not sell or rent your personal data.

Legal bases

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases under Article 6(1) of the GDPR:

• Playing with other people and the leaderboard: providing the game you asked for, point (b).
• Answering your email: providing the game and the support you ask for, point (b), and our legitimate interest in fixing problems, point (f).
• TestFlight feedback and this website: our legitimate interest in testing the game and in delivering and securing the site, point (f).
• Privacy requests: our legal obligations, point (c).

Where data is processed

We work from Türkiye. Apple, Google, Cloudflare and Vercel may process data in the United States and other countries. The people you play online with may be in any country.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us for a copy of your personal data, and ask us to correct or delete it, to restrict or stop using it, or to give it to you in a portable format. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

In practice we hold very little about you, usually only your emails. We cannot see what the game saves on your iPhone. Your Game Center data, including your leaderboard entry, is held by Apple, which answers requests about it under the Apple Privacy Policy, for example at privacy.apple.com.

To make a request, email support@stratanaut.com. We reply within one month at the latest. If you live in Türkiye, your rights under Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and how to apply are set out in our KVKK Aydınlatma Metni, in Turkish.

Children

Mystica is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you think a child under 13 has sent us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new version number and date. If a change affects what data the game handles, we will also say so in the App Store release notes.
